As I was driving down a one lane road on the side of a mountain near the sequoia national forest, the first thing to capture my attention was the landscape, and the rivers. I took my time getting to my lodge, capturing every bit of awe I could. I was only there for a few days. One day I drove into the sequoia national forest. It was about a thirty minute drive. I got there early. Fog covered the forest like a quilt. I drove only seeing what was right in front of me. Eventually the trees got bigger. I hiked through the forest for a few hours. The meadow was my favorite. On my way home I was able to see my first bobcat. Unfortunately, I did not get the shot. I took a nap and let the rain pass. I went back out to where I saw it. I saw the bobcat again. It was walking down the one lane road enjoying the last bits of sun, and the sound of the river. Fortunate for me he was walking away from me when I saw him. That, and the sound of the river allowed for me to trail it. Eventually it stopped, and turned around. I was spotted. Crouching, camera in hand, heart beating. I took my first ever predator wildlife photo.
